The result:<\/p><ul><li>The same sentence may be translated <strong>differently <\/strong>in multiple places<\/li><li>Recurring elements drift apart across multiple courses<\/li><li>Consistency does not arise automatically, but only through review and guidelines<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Practical example (typical):<\/strong><br \/>A call to action such as &#8220;Start now&#8221; is rendered once as &#8220;Start now&#8221; and later as &#8220;Start now.&#8221; Neither is &#8220;wrong,&#8221; but together they appear disjointed and unprofessional.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9a94d0b elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"9a94d0b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-64c92de elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"64c92de\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Glossary in Articulate Localization:<br>Helpful, but only if it is implemented early on<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-df50863 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"df50863\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d45671f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d45671f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>What the glossary does well<\/strong><\/p><p>Uploading a glossary before translation can save a lot of time and effort:<\/p><ul><li>Key technical terms<\/li><li>Product names and UI terms<\/li><li>defined translations for recurring terms<\/li><\/ul><p><\/p><p>Ideally, this gives the review a clear guideline: &#8220;This is what we call it.&#8221;<\/p><p><strong>Where it hurts in practice<\/strong><\/p><p>The glossary does not automatically help retroactively if&#8230;<\/p><ul><li>Terms are added retrospectively<\/li><li>a term is defined differently globally<\/li><li>you only notice during the review that a specification is missing<\/li><\/ul><p><\/p><p>Then there are usually only two options:<\/p><ol><li>Retranslate and check the corrections again<\/li><li>Manually search for all occurrences and correct them<\/li><\/ol><p><\/p><p>And if the incorrect term appears in 20 places, this is not a &#8220;minor fix,&#8221; but rather review work.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-799d84e elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"799d84e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8e844b2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"8e844b2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">A glossary is not a miracle cure.<br>Context remains human.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3090b6a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3090b6a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Even with a perfect glossary, one problem remains: <strong>context<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Example:<br \/>You specify that &#8220;command&#8221; should always be translated as &#8220;Kommando&#8221; in the UI. However, there are passages where &#8220;command&#8221; is not meant as a UI term (&#8220;Your wish is my command.&#8221;). In this case, a literal application of terminology would be incorrect.<\/p><p>Machines cannot reliably differentiate between these two meanings. A glossary is a guideline, not an understanding of context. Therefore:<\/p><p><strong>Glossary = consistency anchor. Review = context check.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e171e9c elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"e171e9c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-be9cc0b elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"be9cc0b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Additional stumbling block:<br>Tone (formal\/informal) is not automatically stable<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6521bb6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6521bb6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Many teams choose a tone (formal\/informal) when setting up and then expect consistency. In practice, this can vary:<\/p><ul><li>within a course<\/li><li>or between courses<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In German in particular, mixing &#8220;Sie&#8221; and &#8220;du&#8221; comes across as extremely unprofessional, because learners immediately notice that the style is not consistent.<\/p><p><strong>Consequence: <\/strong>tone must be reviewed in the same way as terminology.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-181a5c4 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"181a5c4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2e065eb elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2e065eb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Glossary management:<br>Organize externally, otherwise it will become unmanageable.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-78cbf15 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"78cbf15\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Uploading a glossary is easy. Managing a glossary is the real work:<\/p><ul><li>Versioning (which version has been approved?)<\/li><li>Responsibility (who decides on new terms?)<\/li><li>Product\/brand differences (multiple glossaries, different registers)<\/li><li>Approval processes<\/li><\/ul><p><br \/>When multiple teams and courses are involved, you need at least:<\/p><ul><li>A responsible role (terminology responsibility)<\/li><li>a clean filing system<\/li><li>clear rules on when a glossary may be changed<\/li><\/ul><p><\/p><p>Otherwise, there is a high risk that the wrong version will be uploaded by mistake and you will only notice this once the course is already &#8220;live.&#8221;<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8ffac9a
